Lusophone IGF officially recognized by the global Internet Governance Forum

The 1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum, organized by LusNIC, .PT, CIG.br, NiC.br, and INTIC, was recognized by the global Internet Governance Forum as an open, inclusive, and bottom-up platform for all stakeholders from the Portuguese-speaking countries to cooperate on matters related to Internet governance. It is featured on the site here.

This first Lusophone Forum will take place on the 18th and 19th of September in São Paulo, Brazil, on the first day at the Portuguese Language Museum and on the second day at the NIC.br Headquarters. It will also be possible to follow online.

Among the topics under discussion will be the Internet governance ecosystem, the Portuguese language on the Internet, the Global Digital Compact and the challenges and opportunities for the development of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.
