Eugénio Pinto joined the team on March 1st, as .PT’s Director of Innovation and Technology. Graduated by the University of Lisbon and, previously, information security manager at BBC, where he spent almost 10 years, and at CGI, the Eugénio Pinto returns to the entity responsible for Portuguese Top-level domain, .pt, where he previously worked between 2004 and 2008.
"It's a return home, with new knowledge, methodologies and ways of working, which I had the opportunity to learn in an international context," said Eugénio Pinto. ".PT has an incredible culture and team spirit, and a very relevant presence in the national ecosystem. I am excited to be here at a time when .PT will be expanding its technical team to extend the positive impact it already has in Portugal," he added.
"We are very pleased to have Eugénio back on the team," said Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, President of the .PT Board of Directors. "This return shows that, even for professionals who have been abroad, in London and Paris, like Eugénio, .PT is attractive, offers great working conditions and attracts highly qualified people. We believe that Eugénio is the right person for the challenges ahead of us.".
The .PT's new Director of Innovation and Technology will ensure the implementation of new technical features, the improvement and extension of the use of machine learning to new areas and the implementation of a greater number of cloud-based solutions. .PT's commitment will also include a review of its technological architecture, investment in automation and integration with external systems.
In the area of Innovation, .PT's priorities include multiplying internal co-creation processes, data analysis and product and service management, creating an idea management platform and getting closer to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. .PT intends to establish itself as a data-driven organization in the coming years.
.PT would also like to thank Eduardo Duarte, the former Technical Director, for his 14 years of dedication to the organization and wishes Eduardo success in the new challenge.
