What to do in case of Ransomware?
Ransomware is a type of malware (such as virus, trojans, etc.) that infects and manipulates users' computer systems so that they are unable to use some or all the data stored. Users usually receive a pop-up blackmail note, pressuring them to pay a ransom to regain access to their systems and files (ENISA Glossary - Ransomware).

HOW DOES IT SPREAD?

Fraudulent emails with links to websites or malicious attachments
Compromise of weak credentials
Exploitation of technical vulnerabilities in systems

HOW TO PREVENT IT?

Do not open attachments from suspicious emails
Always keep your computer and antivirus software updated
Download only from trusted websites
Do not connect USB drives from unknown sources

I AM INFECTED, HOW SHOULD I REACT?

Disconnect the computer from the VPN and network (WiFi and cable)
DO NOT turn off the computer
Take a photo of the message and report it to the cybersecurity team (email/phone)
