Socializing in quarantine times
As Gabriel García Márquez used to say, " Life is not what one lived, but what One remembers and how One remembers it in order to recount it". The time that we are living, one day will be remembered and also recounted, but that day has yet to come, immediately uncertainty is what we see and for that we try to reinvent the impossible in times of diversity.
The human being is social by nature, likes to socialize, taste, share, care, touch, mark, remember, embrace, but how can all this be put into practice with a social distance imposed for our protection, for protection of humanity?
Birthday parties with blowing out candles, work meetings, missing a voice, a face or expression, having family meals, job interviews, exercising together, working as a team, meeting new people, all this and much more at a distance from a screen and an essential communication called the Internet, and the tools that allow us to use sound and images to try to compensate for the absence of presence.
It would have been more complicated, more difficult to navigate, if this milestone in history had happened in other times, when technology would not have been so evolved and we would not have been allowed to use it in our favor, being of such importance for our overcoming, resilience and emotional stability.
"Wisdom comes to us when it can no longer do any good", paraphrasing Gabriel García Márquez again, no matter how much it was predicted, nothing was done to prevent it, we can only learn from the present and apply it in the future.
But one thing is guaranteed, continuing to invest in technological evolution and communication via Internet is the right way to have tools always available for times of greater pressure and because above all "I value things, not for what they are worth, but for what they mean", Gabriel García Márquez.
